This is the space for submitting reviews of Roald Dahl's books (just click on 'Comments').

Roald Dahl was born in Wales 1916 to Norwegian parents. As a young man he served in the RAF, until 1942 when as an invalid in the USA, he discovered he could make money from writing. At first he wrote for adults, then in 1961 James and the Giant Peach was published. It was inspired by bedtime stories he told his children. He became the most successful children's author in the world. Find out more at the great new website www.roalddahl.com.

The Library has most of his children's books as well as his collected stories for adults, and his autobiography Going Solo.

This week I read another book from home called " The Twits " by Roald Dahl this book is very small and has only about 100 pages. This was a very good book because it was about mr & mrs twit who were a very unplesant couple whp played pranks on each other all the time. One of the pranks was when mrs twit put worms in his spaghetti and he thought it was still spaghetti then he soon realised that it is worms and get a frog and puts it in her bed then she wakes up to see a forg lying on her pillow. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend you to read it as it is very enjoyable and you want to read more.

I read James and the Giant Peach this week by Roald Dahl this book was a very werid book to read because the things that haooen in it you just can't imagine cause they are just un real. James parents were eaten by an giant rhinoceros that escaped from londo zoo. Amd the book just gets worse because james has to go live with his two aunty thats live away up in the hills, they are called Sponge and Spiker. They were very nasty to James and made his life a misery, Sponge was very chubby and Spiker was as thin as a branch. James was very annoyed with his aunties and played up alot of the time but one day life gets better for James .....

I remember reading this book in primary school but i had forgotten what it was all about.
I realy enjoyed this book.

This week I chose the novel The Witches by Roald Dahl. This book is about a boy and his Norwegian Grandmother who try to hunt down witches. Then his poor grandmother falls ill and the nurse tells them she needs a holiday so they go to a hotel in England. The boy loves to play with his new mice called William and Mary until the maid finds them under the bed. So the maneger says him they have to stay in the cage but how will they get trained if they are in a cage so the boy hunts the hotle and eventually finds the ballroom where the RSPCC are meeting but are you sure they are women? I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone.
