Jenny Oldfield was born in Yorkshire. She still lives there and loves the countryside, which features heavily in her books. She has written many books for children and adults, and her most popular are probably her books about horses and riding.
The Library has lots of her books, including some from the Half-Moon Ranch series, as well as Offside, Extra Time, Wilde Day Out, Snap, and more.

This book is about a family who goes for a day out. Krystal enters a compitition and sings. But if she wins you will have to read the book and find out. This book I thought was really good. My favourite character was Krystal.
I think the book is better for ages 11-12.
